Stabbing at Harding High School

Very sad that kids don't feel safe in schools.   We must do better for our students in Saint Paul.  They are the future and we are failing them.

In 2020, the school board voted 5-1 to not renew the contract with SPPD, that provided resource officers in high schools in Saint Paul.  The only person that didn't vote yes to not renewing was John Brodrick.  He argued that Resource officers developed relationships with students, chaperone events, and can respond to emergency situations such as school shootings.
